Giving is really getting

There is a female colleague who is about to retire in the company. When she thinks that no one will need her anymore, her heart beats faster. She does not plan to force her daughter to marry and have children. So, what will she rely on in the future?

I recommend her to read a book called "Grandma's Rent". The old lady in the book is not anyone's grandmother, in fact, she is alone and has no children. As she gets older, she finds herself left behind by the times. In the end, she was heartbroken and advertised: Grandma is renting out. Do you need a grandmother who is cuddling? Do you need a grandma who can ramble on you? I am not a very powerful person. I have no money, no intelligence, and no special abilities, but what I have is the will to pay. I gave all my love to you, I hope you don't think it's too little.

I said, "As long as you want to be useful and others need you, you can be everyone's grandmother." The

real loneliness is not being needed, and "unwilling to be needed" is the grave of modern people. .

Colleagues listened to my words and understood. One day, she was passing by the library and suddenly found that she was recruiting volunteers - she loved reading books all her life, and that was all. She liked the clear windows of the library, and never thought of doing anything about it. She remembered what I said, so she went to the front desk and asked, "I know nothing, can I be a volunteer?"

Suddenly she was a student—to be a volunteer you had to train first; she had colleagues - Thirty volunteers; she's been pulled into work groups - it's been a long time since every group she's entered is a shopping group.

Once, a few young students asked questions, and the teacher asked them to write the history of the city. They didn't know where to start. They just went to the library to find materials, but what are the materials? After she listened to their troubles patiently, she took them to Fangzhi's bookshelf. There are often elderly people who come to borrow books and return them, and do not know how to use the self-service borrowing and returning machines. She lowered her voice—the library should not be too loud, and taught them word by word in their ears. It's not that she can't do it for them all at once, but they can't ask for help again and again.

In this way, she suddenly found that her life was colorful again.

"Otaku" now seems to be a praised word, and many children proudly say: I am an otaku / otaku. There is a saying that is very popular: I don't cause trouble for others, and others don't cause trouble for me.

There are new values here: a sense of boundaries, being alone. People who don't want to be interfered, also don't want to interfere with others. Or there is a vague resentment in it: when I am helpless, no one helps me, why should I help others?

In fact, it is human nature to help people.

Babies are the most helpless. When they are hungry, they can only cry and cannot find food on their own; when they defecate, they can only sleep in urine. At the same time, babies cannot help others because they are too weak. Therefore, when children grow up a little bit, they will be very willing to help people. The stumbling little hair, if the adults said, "Come, get a comb for mother," they would happily agree, rush over to find the comb, and come back to mother with the comb. For mother's praise, they are happy to give it to her. Clap yourself.

I've never seen a child unwilling to help an adult, not one. Also because giving is a way of definition.

Why do we love our parents? Because they keep giving.

Would you like the teacher who talks about the topic after class, or the teacher who ignores the students?

And before using "giving" to define others, should it be used to define yourself first?

Are you a useful person to society?

Are you as indispensable as iron, like copper?

Like my colleague, she makes the library better with her twice-weekly contributions.
